In cooperation with Changemaker Norge and FOKUS- Forum for Women and Development, we will have a digital conversation on gender based violence in Latin America with focus on Guatemala.
1 in 3 women from Latin America have experienced gender based violence. Guatemala is the country that has one of the most prevalent rates of violence against women in the world. Instances of gendered violence in Guatemala include domestic violence, sexual violence, human trafficking, incest, and femicide (the deliberate killing of women).
Meet:
Silvia Trujillo, feminist academic and writer at the feminist publication «La Cuerda»
Ana Sáenz de Tejada, a student who leads the the response to sexual harassment in the Guatemalan student community
Diana Roca, a guatemalan lawyer and business women.
They have something in common: they are women and fight against gender based violence.
